FUNAI APPOINTS NEW DVC, DEANS, OTHERS….TO CONDUCT POST UTME SCREENING NOT WRITTEN EXAM

The Senate of the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) has announced the appointment of a new Deputy Vice Chancellor. He is Professor
Sunday Oge Elom, dean Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
Professor Elom takes over from Professor Mosto Onuoha, the pioneer DVC whose tenure has since expired. He was until the appointment the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
Also appointed are Professor Johnny Ogunij, Professor Robert Nneli and Dr. Afam Icha-Ituma as Dean of Faculties of Agriculture, Basic Medical Sciences, and Education respectively, while Dr. Ogugua Egwu was appointed acting Director of Entrepreneurship and Employability Centre.
Professor Johnny Ogunji, a German-trained Professor of Agricultural Science is assuming the position as the pioneer dean in the newly created Faculty of Agriculture. He has served in many positions such as the dean of Postgraduate School, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
Professor Robert Nneli who takes over as the dean of Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences was before now the head of department of Physiology in the Faculty.
Dr. Afam Icha-Ituma, an associate professor was the pioneer acting director of Academic Planning before being appointed acting director of Entrepreneurial and Employability Centre. He now has the task of pioneering the Faculty of Education as the Dean.
The new Acting Director of Entrepreneurial and Employability Centre, Dr. Ogugua Egwu, an associate professor of Anatomy is also the protem chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universitites (ASUU), FUNAI branch.
Also Senate during the meeting pegged the cost of form for the School of Foundation Studies (SFS) at ten thousand naira (N10,000) only and as well decided that FUNAI would conduct post UTME screening exercise and not a written examination at a date to be announced.
